I would like to start out by stating how much I appreciate the opportunity to serve our community.
. So with that in mind here is a snapshot of what I have done. I thought I would start with present day and work backwards.
My most recent volunteering would be through The Small Business Adm. I started volunteering with Score Senior Organization of Retired Executives and have done so for about two years. I was Certified as a Mentor in just a few weeks. I have taken a very active role in Score and have served on the Executive Council as chair for Customer Satisfaction. I have worked with my team to implement a better relationship with Clients and a quicker response to their needs. I am one of two in the Florida Southwest Chapter who has mentored over 150 clients . I have already seen many success stories in new business startups.
Before this I owned a chain of businesses in the Michigan area. I ran the organization from a distance visiting as time would allow. I owned the company for 28 years and grew the organization to a multi million dollar business. In doing so I saw the need for other support businesses which were start ups incubating for a few months before launch. This included the following: Buying a building and remodeling it to match my business needs, a retail business of gift items, a flower shop to serve the local community in special events, an online business, a rental business, also a lease company.
While I was involved in all of this I also worked for a Fortune 100 company. I worked with a team of people on the East Coast. I was focused on the distribution, architectural design of buildings, also with builders in helping them get the product they needed, as well as retailer and providing product knowledge for all.
I was involved in State projects in product specifications, delivery and most other issues that might arise for the company. I filled this position for 30 years.
Out of college I managed a prototype lumber business which was a model of what later became the Lowe*s and Home Depots.
I represent over 45 years of business experience and look forward to sharing what I have learned along the way.
Sincerely
William Robertson
